Chapter 3: Jordanians " The Hair Shirts "

THE HAIR SHIRTS
You need a Polo shirt, Diesel Jeans, Clarks shoes, and a Breitling. You need a BMW or an SUV, a BB, a so-called exquisite taste, and a 5-number car plate. These are the pre-requisites to the League of Extraordinary men and women. If you have the pre-requisites, then you're eligible for entry.
Self-haters who denounce everything around them. Jordanians by virtue of a document, and if given the chance they'll be anything but. They claim superiority to a world that fed them. They are disgusted by a nation that never stopped giving them. To them, this country can't do anything right. As the movie of the Jordanian life flickers before there eyes they fail to see anything but the black spots and the hidden signatures. They've succumbed to the notion that their survival stems from their distance from this society. They welcome foreigners with a cry for help. They'll bash everything they see to overcome their insecurities, and lack of self-respect.
they're overwhelmed with reality. Oblivious to the concept of classes. Everyone needs to be Upper Class. You need to get your morning coffee at Starbucks, watch your movies at Zara Center's, have your Shisha in Lemon, and NOT read your books in Books@cafe. You're unrecognizable to them if your net worth of apparel covering your body is less than 200 JD. They'll sing Odes of the wonders of the countries they visited, and compare it to the nothingness they see in Jordan. They have a soft spot for Lebanon. It's their best bid to achieve social immortality.
If you want to see them, look around you. They are the ones sitting on tables talking to each other in English, dropping a "ca va" every once in awhile. They are the ones staring at you, from the corner of their eyes, somewhere near the belt, for an eye contact with the masses hurts their superiority.
They love their version of Jordan. One in which they only see themselves. One in which everybody dines in a hotel and shops in a mall. One that breathes vanity and exists in their fantasy.
They have a keen interest in arts, but they can't tell the difference between a melody and a fart. They are the farthest there is from sophistication, but they definitely look the part. They are the parasites growing around ministers, and the country's blood-sucking sinisters. For them, narcissism is a religion, humility is fascism, and a nation is a minority of Gods and a majority of enslaved and ripe humans put there to glorify their mere existence.
They dread the crawling of the easter Ammanites to their Green Zone. Down the years they retreated from Jabal Al Hussein, Jabal Amman, Shmeisani and Rabieh. They are still fighting for there lives in Sweifieh, while they still have a stronghold in Abdoun and Deir Ghbar! A counter attack has been recently launched at Jabal Amman, but it remains to be seen who will eventually prevail.
If you're rich, you're not necessarily one of them. However, you need to keep spotting yourself. As your humanity and your connection with reality is at stake. You have the choice. You can become superior by overcoming your superiority, or dwell in the hole of self-worship and shoot yourself to oblivion. To the dumpster of history.

A world of dreamers and pragmatists

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think.

Perspectives is what makes life interesting. It's what actually makes people different, not race or color.

people are born identical. With goodness instilled in them. They all believe in truth and happiness. They all believe in justice and the power of the human soul. But then, we grow up. We are taught different versions of history and God. We are made to believe that we own the truth, and that we are somehow better than the rest. It sure helps us advance in certain aspects of life, but the trade off is that we lose some part of our humanity as life goes by, and we see it happening with pride, thinking that we are somehow growing stronger and better.

If you are lucky, you go on with your life failing to notice this, as your reality doesn't challenge your ideas. If you're not that lucky, you meet someone who unintentionally strikes a truth that you will never be comfortable with. The greater the divide, the more difficult it is for you to accept the new facts. You might change, but there is only so much you can change without being denounced for relinquishing your superiority and your version of the truth. Suddenly, what you know, or thought you knew, becomes the greatest wall separating you from reality and your humanity.

Ignorance is a bless.

Being naive is often what makes you happy. That's why children have the most genuine smiles. You might think It is inevitable, but there are those who are blessed with a humane reservoir that decades of life won't consume. As for the rest of us, we grow older and we lose our humanity to nothing.

Those who are prepared to cross barriers are the unsung heroes of this race. Sadly, quite often they are the ones who pay the price. Blessed are those who believe in abstracts and non-existing values, for without them the earth will be inhabited by Swiss watches and robots dressed in human skin working relentlessly and obliviously on terminating this race.

It's your choice whether you die of a great Tsunami, an ice age, an Ozone hole, or a sudden non-existence of dreamers!

Dreamers give losers life, and lovers give everyone a home.

Status Update

The past few weeks were a little different from what preceeded them. A change is always welcome. The question is; was it a good change?

Last time I scored 7.4!

Social: 8
Life is pretty rewarding sometimes, and after some dry spells you get reminded that you're not socially dead :).

Financial 8:
Hard work ocassionally pays off! It looks like it's going to be a good year. A new method in handling my finances is apparently paying off, even during Holidays.

Professional 9:
I'm having a great time :) ... If I manage to avoid the scramble of the year-end I will be bursting with fruits flavors.

Weather 9:
As I wished, I Felt a little cold in Jordan, and then came back to the wonderful winter of Dubai. It's a great time for outdoor activities.

Health 6:
You can't win it all!! I hate Flu.

Overall 8:

Looks like it was a good change :) .. I hope it goes on... Targeting 9.5 by March!

Thoughts of a 40,000 ft high passenger

* They say that smoking will kill you. I'm not really sure whether this has something to do with the actual intake of all this gloriously poisonous stuff, or is it because the things a smoker will do to get his fix! I walked probably half a mile from and crossed two terminals today to go to the smoking room! More like a gas chamber. Smoked two ciggies and went back the same distance with my bags on me! Now, this is what people call dedication.

* Airports always give you, well at lest me, this weird feeling of hope mixed with loneliness and solitude. I'm very quiet in airports. I will probably look like a man carrying the globe over his shoulders. Usually, I'm just having extra time to think about so many things that I usually forget.

* After what happened the other day, Egypt & Algeria should be banned from the World Cup! It's an embarrassment and a disgrace to Arabs, Africa and the whole sporting community. Their associations should impose a self-ban just to teach their Holligans a lesson and tell the world that those rubbish don't represent us.

* Tunisia decided to embarrass itself against Mozambique, as opposed to doing it during the world cup. They are keeping a low profile. How wise of them.

* Bahrain should not qualify. Period.

* When an Arab tries to explain to a Sri Lankan that he/she shouldn't discriminate agains Philippinos that means that the world is coming to an end!.. The west do it for us, and we do it for each other!

* Emirates airlines is a great Airliner. Wonderful service. But Royal Jordanian is as well, and their Entertainment programs are much better. Yes, I care about my entertainment especially during long flights.

* Emirates only comes on top by the virtue of the absence of the self-proclaimed scary non-civilan staring at everyone who steps in.

* 401 Miles to Amman.

* Smoking isn't the most damaging thing to your health. Remember, eventually you will get married.

* Heading to Amman, the first few ideas that pop into my head are:
A)finally I will be able to wear a jacket! I miss those winters.
B) Once I'm out of customs I'll buy me a Latte from Blue Fig and smoke me a ciggie.
C) I'm going to miss that house warming party Eloisa is throwing this weekend, and
D) I've just approved a 4-day vacation that my privacy will take. It will commence the moment I step off the plane.

* We Jordanians complain a lot about Jordan.. But we love going back. Because it's beautiful.

* Two days of work and then the weekend. After that, the weather is getting better in Dubai and I'm not about to miss it!

Happy Birthday PALORDINIA

Palordinia The Birthday Boy!

It's already been a year. Well, to be more specific 370 days, since Palordinia started. When we started this thing we had nothing in mind more than creating a portal for our thought, and yes, why not sharing it with everyone interested on the web.

We have our ideas which usually fall short of being realized due to us being preoccupied with our jobs and our daily lives. Add to that a small dose of laziness and you find yourself looking at a product of two Arab guys in their late twenties.

During this year we strived to offer you, the visitor, an interesting perspective on many subjects. We tend to lean towards politics and business, but we also have an interest in arts, culture and just about everything else. Unfortunately, we are not blessed with the necessary skills to write about everything, and that's why you find the material about arts for example next to non-existent.

Inspiration

Our little adventure came to life when we started noticing what is commonly known amongst all of you as the Blogosphere! I know I know. A little too late, but hey! why judge us :). In times where Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and Myspace invaded our homes and minds, it is very difficult to notice something less flashy but admittedly richer!

I find myself obliged to mention the first blog that we noticed. Naturally, this blog helped develop the idea in our heads, and soon it was a reality. This blog was the Roba's weird and sometimes self-centered AndFarAway! Of course, that takes nothing away from the quality of that blog, but I thought it would be a decent way of describing it. It is also important to mention her that we are thankful for a different reason. Soon you will know why.

You might think, This guy is making creating a blog look like a difficult things to do. Well, true it is done with a couple of clicks. But to decide to take the time and commit to such thing is really difficult. I am not claiming that we have been consistant all along! Just a look at the number of entries of September 2008 gives you an idea about how fluctuating things have been around here.

No Promises!

I'm not going to make any promise that I'm not sure of fulfilling. I don't think Ali "my partner in crime" is going to do so as well. We will stick around. This is something for us before anything else, and if we are blessed enough to have people coming by to read what we write and share their thoughts and ideas with us, then that would be wonderful!

We might move to the next leverl, we might not. We might change our skins, we might not. We might grow, and we might not. But we will be around :)

How big is the bubble.

As all of you know, wonderful Google has this great tool called Google Analytics. It gives you some wonderful insights about yuour blog. It allows you to know how your blog is performing, and what is it that your readers take interest in. Here, we are going to share some facts about this blog with you. So Enjoy.

Vampires do exist!! They're called Corps!

After staying in office until 4 AM in the morning, attending meetings with delegates while you’re suffering fever, over achieving your goals, constantly reading and replying to your emails while on vacation, going regularly to your company’s office in the country where you are vacationing, and attending five conference calls during your only month of peace, you are ten minutes late for a meeting and somebody tells you that you are not punctual, always miss meetings and have scary working habits!!!

Doesn’t it step on your breathing nerves!!?

Fucking Corps!

Miles Away.. Decades Behind!

Warning: No good vibes in this post. The main purpose for it is to bitch and moan about the subject matter. So, if you don't want to be put down, don't read it.

Now that you have been warned, my main reason for this post is basically to complain about an area that, for me, is major cause of distress and suffocation!

Sharjah!!

I stated in numerous occasions to my friends living in Sharjah that under no circumstance will I be going there for a visit or to spend some time. It was due to the rediculously screwed up traffic for the most part. But today reality hit me. The moment the skyline of Sharjah welcomed us and we dived into the hellish traffic of Sharjah I suddenly became depressed! It surprised me because five mintues ago as we were crossing Garhoud Bridge overlooking Festival City on the right, and Grand Hayyat on the left I was happy and dandy. It's amazing how this city changes my mood into one that is suitable of a grumpy old fart who lost his wife to cancer and was abandoned by his six kids.

The first thing that welcomes you into Sharjah is a chaotic skyline. Towers that seem to be stemming out of nowhere, so random that you find it hard to imagine what network might put them all together. inexplicable 10:00 pm traffic, and raodworks that you know damn well will not lead to any remedy. I can't imagine the meeting in which the "City Planners" have sat to come up with the grandest of plans to make this a metropolitan! They stuffed hundreds of thousands of people in a couple of square kilometers adjacent to Dubai to harvest as much as they can from those who can't afford a living in Dubai. No horizon, no air to breathe and countless number of small time shops adding to the overwhilming fuzzy atmosphere of this place.

It seems to me that Sharjah was builts to bring together the worst of Riyadh and Cairo. Mind you, I never went to Cairo, but it is my imagination that those rotting buildings standing for decades in the old and crushed district of Cairo can't be any worse. And since I was born in Riyadh I can say that they remind my of those concrete blocks gracing NOT the city! Lively? it sure is. But, you get the feeling that this city is a combination of Bat'ha in Riyadh, Al Balad in Amman and a refugee camp somewhere in Irbed!

A jungle of Concrete. This is exactly what it is. No parking, no traffic flow, no beautiful buildings, no grace whatsoever. Ironically, if you go and visit the Lake "a.k.a EL Buhaira" this article will be what you call a Phu Phuck Lai! A new level of lying.

But it's not. It really isn't. Apologies for all those who live in Sharjah, but I can't deny that the moment I step foot in that city I feel like I need a session with Dr. Phil!!

Can you imagine the desparation!!

Validation can actually make your life better!

I haven't seen an idea as genuine in a long time!!! And I must admit, Mohammad Abbas looks funny as a Yasser Arafat :)... But I get too many parking tickets here in Dubai to be able to overcome that particular trauma!! :S

Experiencing the Ugly side of Yourself

You know these days in which you feel you have transformed into a grumpy old fart! You feel like you've abruptly grown 60 years in age without knowing when the metamorphosis happened. Such days make you want to stay away from everyone because quite frankly you are not very fond of yourself.

All of a sudden I have a headache and acidity in my stomach which is something that happens once in a decade! I feel like throwing up and my bladder starts working its magic to add a cherry to the cake! What a wonderful cake. I kind of feel like I've been stuck in this mood for the past centinnial, and more and more I feel like the best place to be is my bed! Or as my fellow jordanians coined it, in the Farsheh Club. Which means The Mattress Club in English.

Dusty weather is not helping, and the excorciating heat of Dubai is looming in the horizon reminding me and agonizing me for the wasted winter days.

Being the old grannie that I'm these days makes me notice things only Abu El Abed would notice! The tackiness of Diana Haddad's Haifa-esque
new clip. The stupidity of a discussion on how big or small lebanese asses are on a certain blog!. The tag of dominance a group of jordanians stamped on a neighborhood in Dubai, which is something I'll soon be sharing with you.

These days few things cheer me up. Watching Messi play! Listening to a nice song. Beating traffic on the way back from work, and having a moment for myself and away from everyone. But it'll soon be over! This is not me, and it shouldn&'t be. Something ought to happen and things will be back on track!... And since music was mentioned somewhere in this post, I think I owe it to myself and anyone who made it through the first paragraph and up till here to say that U2's new album SUCKS!Big time.

P.S. I'm posting this from my car in the parking lot of Burjuman!.. No status update to be published anytime soon because it's going to look ugly!! Cheers!

This is how arabs make the world laugh at them. Courtesy of Mona Al Tahawy

I know a lot of people who would love to be called pundits, who like to shine on us with their wisdom and educate us and the world about all sorts of things!! Recently, I came across one of them. An Egyptian lady who posts on her website a long and impressive CV stamped by an award and a recognition as a columnist and speaker about Arab & Muslim affairs. Her last dose of wisdom was a lecture at the University of Delaware. It was titled understanding the Arabs!

Now, you would assume that the purpose of this lecture by an Arab "independent" pundit would be to help the world understand the Arabs. The People. How they think? What are their priorities? What are the causes that matter to them the most? And how can those interested reach out to the Arab people for the greater good. However, what you get is an incosistent and lame trial to promote and push and shove in everybody's head certain beliefs and certain agendas that will actually give "Those" interested all the needed tools to keep us as the most shattered nation in the world for centuries to come!

Ms. Al Tahawy took pride in announcing to her audience that Arab Unity has been shattered and forever. She did her best to throw about assurances that Arab Unity "and I'm talking about the Arab Street here" is an outdated legend that no one believes in anymore. In fact, she made an interesting announcement, and I quote "There is no such thing as an Arab Street". It feels like the kind of message a zionist would like to send to the American Government assuring them that no matter what you do to this pathetic nation they shouldn't worry about any comeback or a resilient and meaningful stand from them. It's an invitation for everyone to come and wreck havoc in the middle east!

But you kind of understand where that declaration she made comes from. Al Tahaway spent the most part of her lecture talking about regimes! and to be more specific four regimes. Carefully selected and for different but mirrored reasons. I think it was an ill-advised decision to call this lecture "Understanding the Arabs". It should have been called "Understanding America's proxies and its enemies".

I don't see how more than an hour of talking about the Egyptian, Saudi, Qatari and Syrian regime would help the west understand the Arabs! Aren't these the same regimes that made the world misunderstand us in one way or another? Aren't these regimes the screens put between us and the world that makes us look useless, violent and unready for democracy? How can she make such a mistake?... Or was it??

For someone who takes pride in being progressive, moderate and egyptian, it surprises me to hear the loaded words she was gracing the crowd with. She is actually promoting Saudi now! Talking about an important and commendable change in the highly conservative Saudi government. Pushing people to accept that change in Saudi is hard and has to be done slowly. You know, that kind of change with a pace that you will live you entire life without ever noticing. And then, she shrinks Qatar and its policy into the role of the jealous loser brother!! One that is desparately trying to piss the Saudis off!! Like a girl crying during her elder sister's birthday to get some attention. According to her, whatever Qatar does is merely the opposite of what Saudi does! Along the way, she did her utmost to shatter the reputation of the most reliable media outlet in the Arab world, Aljazeera. The only station where arabs can listen to the real story. The only channel that can actually reach the world, and tell them in English our point of view and what the other channels don't show. According to her, Aljazeera entices the masses by showing unnecessary and biased information and images from Palestine and Iraq. It's very depressing to see an "Enlightened" arab denounce the only free media in the arab world, and for the same reasons Bush and Netenyahu will flag. Again, in the process she promoted Al Arabiyya! A biased station built to counter Aljazeeraa and sell out to the masses any idea that comes to the head of the american government or any of its clowns in the region.

Altahawy carried that same analogy to compare the Egyptian government and the Syrian government. As expected, Egypt although a dictatorship, has a major role in the region and has structured its policy strategically for the greater good. Syria is just like Qatar, trying to piss off Egypt.

In very few sentences did Mona say anything about the people. What they want. how they think. Are they united or not, do the same things matter to them or not. These things clearly didn't mean anything to her, apparently because she didn't notice any uprising or support in favor of Gaza during the Israeli savage campaign. Basically, she didn't explain how the eguptians felt when their government took that shameful stand from the war, and as usual she downgraded the Islamic movement to a last resort, that people go to because of lack of options. Totally disregarding any value those parties might add and calling them "Nut Heads" in the process!!

One more nail in that lectures' coffin was the exclusion of 18 Arab nations and God knows how many muslim nations! Nothing about Palestinians, jordanians, iraqis, Sudanis, lebanese or the rest. and if you want to argue the small impact of these countries on politics, although it would be silly, how can she explain the absence of turkey in her hour or so of wisdom!?!

Promoting Saudi and Egypt, Bluntly denouncing Aljazeera and subtly denouncing Qatar and Syria. If you look at the political directions of these countries at the moment and the powers they are close to you start to wonder what agenda and purpose people like Mona Al Tawahy is serving?

She opened her speech stating that she intends to confuse her audience about their ideas of the Arabs and Muslims. One guy in the audience actually told her that she succeeded. But I think I was confused more than the whole crowd put toghether. It was the worst portray of the arabs I've seen in awhile, and sadly it came from an arab!!

Status Update: "The Coming Back"

I haven't been blogging for a long time now, and as you can see I'm trying to make up for the wasted days! The reason being I was really getting tired of the futile discussion about Gaza. It steps on your nerves and strains your brain cells when you see people discussing things they wouldn't have discussed had it been another country that was involved other than Israel. Back to the chicken and the egg discussion, occupation and security, Shalit and blockade!. For me the facts were clear so I decided to step down for awhile and leave the blogosphere to those who have something to do better than argue with those who don't believe in people's rights to live!

And since it's been awhile, I think it's the right time for the occasional Status Update!!.. I say occasional because it's totally random and based on my mood, which swings faster than a child's cradle!

It would interesting to see how the coming few months will look like!! A major change is forecasted somewhere around June!

An interesting new Gadget by Facebook (Touchgraph)

Being an engineer I can't help but to be fascianted with anything that looks like a diagram. Lines and arrows going left right and center. Circles growing bigger or smaller shifting from left to right and vise Versa!

Some smart guy came up with this idea, and I find it one of the coolest ideas any nerd has come up with. This diagram shows you your friends and the way they are interconnected, and based on their connections to each other they are clustered and color coded!! So you can easily identify those who are you college friends, school friends, colleagues, family, and even one night stands!!

In this diagram for example, you can see a name that is fighting for my place!! His circle is very close and almost as big as mine!! Can you imagine if this guy was severed from my life!! the whole network will be heavily disturbed!! :-)..

Facebook... Cool stuff!!

Status Update: going up the ladder!

Social: 6Things are quiet. Work is taking its toll, and traffic leaves you worn out and the idea of having a social life is at times not appealing whatsoever!! However, the weekends are always interesting. I'm expecting more fun in the coming days, as one my bestEST friends is coming to town.

Professional: 8.5It's getting real, and I have to say, at work, shit usually happens!

Insomnia: 6Work is really giving me no chance to suffer from this horrible condition! One thing I'm thankful for.

Overall: 6.9A push is forecasted in December, with the holidays season beckoning. I just hope that a certain trip will no Xt$*%# the whole thing up!!

Top Ten Annoying Phrases/Expressions!!

Words are magic! You always hear about these keywords once uttered people get excited, enthused, and determined. They understand the message and the mission, and embark on fulfilling the related dream. On the other hand, only in few times did I come across an article that talks about annoying words, annoying phrases and metaphors! Those tacky words that give you a feeling of disbelief, annoyance, and sarcasm. The first thing that crosses your mind once you hear them is that you are about to hear a stream of crap of the highest quality.

I personally have my list, and I'm going to share it here. Definitely, it will be different from others' lists, and I would be very interested in reading about those lists.

And so, down to business. from tenth most annoying to the most MOST annoying!!

10. Touch base!!
It is extremely annoying to hear this word over and over again, in every single meeting and conference call. X will touch base with Y, Y will touch base with Z, and Z will touch base with John who has touched base earlier with X about the need to touch base with Ahmad about why figures are not met!! I personally don't understand the concept of BASE TOUCHING. Does that mean that you're going to talk about headlines which usually have nothing to do with the real situation? Or, are you going to have a TALK about how the situation has turned to a disaster, and understand who screwed things up?! However you put it, TOUCHING the BASE adds no value to anything, and it is merely an attempt to show others that you'll be doing more than TALKING when you're actually not!

9. Deep Dive!

Quite the opposite of the previous one! Yet, almost always you tend to hear the two terms in a great proximity to each other. X will touch base with Y to do a DEEP DIVE into the reports. My theory goes like this; DEEP DIVE is your way of telling someone that they need to do a lot of donkey work while putting it in a self esteem boosting way!

8. It is what it is, except when it's not!!
As if we don't have enough confusion. Usually this phrase is uttered by two people who have no clue what they are talking about, but one of them is in dire need to prove the opposite!

7. What's your good name?!
I don't know how many people have heard this phrase before, but it is pretty common where I live. So when you want to ask somebody about their name you go "What's you good name?". The first thing that pops into my head is that he's going to elabortae and tell him, don't tell me the bad one!!. I don't know about you, but I haven't met many people with two given names!. So imagine the following conversation!

X: Good morning.
Y: Good morning.
X: What's you good name?
Y: Shadi.
X: And your bad one?
Y: Ballota!

6. This is an IN place!
It's just amazing how teenagers have a need to invent things "Usually useless". It's equally amazing how adults criticize them, and then quote them!

5. How much is this? ... It's coming 40$!!
This is just new english to me!

4. What the Frack!!
I just think it's not cute. You're better off saying the real F-word if you really need to!

3. talk the talk, and walk the walk.
I can't explain why, it's just too annoying!

2. Give a 110%!!
The best way to describe this "Action" was a forward email I received a couple of years ago. Basically, if you assign a number from 1 to 26 to each letter of the alphabet based on their alphabetical order, Bull shit scores 110% and Ass kissing scores 120%!

This is basically people's strategy to get ahead in corporate life!! do a lot of 110% & 120%

And the winner, the number one annoying phrase for me is:

1. George W. Bush said...:
Let's face it, anything and everything he says is annoying! There is no limit to his stupidity! For the past 8 years David Littermann had enough material from this guy to fill episodes for the coming 8 years!

There you go! These are the phrases that step on nerves! I'm very interesting in knowing yours.

The Evolution of Truth (The maturity of Hypocrisy)

I had in my head dozens of ways in which I thought the media could change the public’s perception. I knew that there were countless methods and endless angles by which you can turn right to wrong, and wrong to right.

I’ve seen images where the butcher became the victim, and the oppressed became the oppressor. I was even fooled by those teary moments that made me seriously believe that we are all one. I would always take a moment to say, even if in my head, what if?! What if this piece was shown from a different angle? What if those people had seen what happened on a different channel? What if this country had access to the right book? What if that network crashed and we never heard from those brainwashing machines!

But silly me! I thought it was still about the wrong input. I thought that people could change their minds when it comes to their perceived truth! I thought that they would actually think twice before they judge someone. It turned out that it is a little bit too late.

Why talk about human rights? Why talk about equality? Why talk about fairness? Why talk about democracy? I think the Civilized have been enlightened enough to be criminalized for the double standards we are seeing everywhere.

I think the truth has been permanently defined.

You, will always think what you were programmed to think.

And we will always be close-minded terrorists!

Cultural Understanding: Reality Show!!

Somewhere in France, in the forests of Versailles a few people met. Some from Europe, some from the Middle East. A great group of people who give colors to your life. That night however, was destined to be a weird night. In a game of cultural understanding, the following conversation took place!

Q: How do you see French People?
Rob "Dutch": Arrogant!!
Metron "French": Really??!!

Q: How do you see Russian People?
Nikola "Serbian": Aggressive.
Elina "Russian": Are you F***ing kidding me?! Who told you that? "$%%^^#&*$" "something in Russain" Then, are you still living in the 50's?!?!

She definitely proved him wrong!!

Q: How do you see Turkish People?
Alberto "Spanish": Proud & Nationalist.

Poland was playing Slovakia for the 2010 WCQ!! Poland is losing 1-2. Adam is pissed. A discussion about football is ignited. Somewhere along that conversation, I make my main and defining contribution!!

I: You know what, I admire the Germans! Even when they have a shitty team they reach the final.
Ines "German": "Smiles"
Adam "Polish": They are F***ers!! ..
Ines: !!!!!!
Adam: I mean. you know... Podolski is Polish!

Well done Adam!!

Q: How do you see Jordanian People?
....... Long pause!!!.... Then
Silviu "Romanian": I love your Queen.
I: Silviu, Is that a way of telling me you are a terrorist, but you chose to be polite!?

It turned out to be a Dare or Truth thing... But you know, nothing that a Draft can't erase.

Then Metron invited us for an all-cheese dinner!! And then, I just wanted to kill myself.

Business: A contemporary point of view!!!

"The gambling known as business looks with austere disfavor upon the business known as gambling." Ambrose Bierce

It's more like a prophecy!

Of France and ...

So many things go inside your head when you are in france! When you look at people, and places... But that is another story!

For those of us who are so in love with the french:

"To understand Europe, you have to be a genius - or French.” Madeleine Albright.

quite debatable.

"The thing that's wrong with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur” George W. Bush

Can't ague with that! The man is the smartest Homo Sapien on the face of Earth.

“The reason French roads have trees planted down both sides is that the Germans like to march in the shade"

Now this is what I call sense of humor!!
